kickin it like this: last weekend in nyc

Oct. 5

In less than a week I will be gone on an airplane to Buenos Aires. I'm starting to feel the reality of it soaking in.

I'm feeling a bit euphoric, probably from the liquor and weed but also definitely got some endorphins going just being around friends and having fun and I'm sure my jog yesterday helped get the ball rolling:

Went to a really fun dance party club with Jnel and her boyfriend James Friday night, slept at James' luxury apt on his couch overlooking the sky and the tops of Times Square buildings through a glass wall--I hadn't been that high up in a while and I pictured myself floating in the sky as I laid half awake for most of my sleep time. Jnel made a perfect hangover brunch of rosemary potatoes, turkey bacon, turkey sausages, and creamy eggs (I don't know how/what it was but it tasted good). We went for a little walk. Met Mom, Yaakov and Bro down in the West Village for lunch at Barbuto. Rode Danny's bike to find a pair of sneakers so I could go jogging with him, went jogging with him along the water (some of the most beautiful architectural landscaping/urban intersections w/ nature in the city), got my ass kicked a wee bit in the best of ways, cruised on Danny's couch by myself eating cereal and milk watching Mad Men until he and his lady friend Rachel came by and we went to the roof and smoked a bowl and drank some smooth homemade cocktails. Met up with Nina and her man Nikko, smoked a bowl and played guitar hero, got some delicious pizza at 2 am, walked to a bar where we met Craig--one of my first friends in life! [He and I grew up around the corner from each other and used to play soccer in his backyard or he'd try to teach me to skateboard or get me to walk around the neighborhood shoveling snow with him after snowstorms. He was always a good friend when we were little but I remember that I was bratty at times. I guess when puberty hit, we went separate ways. It had been about 12 years since we'd spoke. He and I bumped into each other at a surf film festival that Danny invited me to last week!] Cruised at the bar just a bit, walked north with Craig, Nina and Nikko, rang Danny's bell at 3:30 am for access to his couch and the dude didn't even mind. Had a Kombucha bottled tea and Dagoba berries chocolate bar for breakfast, got an enjoyable haircut this morning (not sure yet if it's what I wanted b/c I wasn't really articulate but the haircutter is fun and she did a good job based on whatever I might have said or not said). Strolled the East Village in and out of great little shops and boutiques and picked up a bunch of cute stuff (uncharacteristic of me!). Just got back to Woodmere.

This leg of my trip ain't nuthin but nice.
